System Design

With more than 30 years of broadcast experience, our engineering team specialises in broadcast system design and systems integration, creating solutions around your workflow. Once the technical scope is agreed, we develop the system schematics, rack and desk layouts, followed by detailed cable schedules for our broadcast wiremen to install.

System Schematics
CAD drawing

Our broadcast system schematics provide a clear technical overview of the system and how everything connects. As the project develops, the drawings are updated to reflect the final installation, giving the client an accurate record of what has been installed.

Cable Schedules
Cable Schedule

Every cable is recorded in a clear, easy-to-read schedule, detailing its length, source, destination and connector type. This gives our installation team everything they need to build the system accurately and provides the client with a useful record of the finished installation.

Rack Layouts
Rack layouts

Comms Rooms require detailed rack layouts showing exactly where each item of equipment will be installed. This allows the cabling to be planned and installed to the correct position, avoiding unnecessary rework on site.

Broadcast Installation & System Cabling

Off-Site Wiring

To speed up on-site installation, many of our projects incorporate pre-wiring of racks and associated cabling. This allows us to build and dress racks while the room or building is still under construction, reducing the amount of work required on site and helping to protect the project programme.

Once the space is ready, the pre-wired racks and cables can be delivered to site and installed quickly and efficiently. It's a practical approach that can make a significant difference when construction schedules are tight.

On-Site Installations

This is where our wiremen put the design into practice, carefully installing, dressing and terminating the cabling throughout the facility. Whether they're working in a client-attended suite or dressing cables in a Central Apparatus Room, every connection receives the same meticulous attention to detail.

Equipment Specification and Supply

In addition to broadcast system design, systems integration and professional cabling, we provide a complete broadcast equipment supply service for Central Apparatus Rooms and post-production suites. We work with established broadcast manufacturers and suppliers to source the equipment required for each project, with training and support available where required.

Project Management

Our projects are supported by dedicated project management to keep the technical delivery of broadcast systems integration projects on track. Our experienced Project Manager, Darryl from East On Projects, oversees the programme of works and coordinates the many moving parts involved in a broadcast installation.

This includes managing technical milestones, scope and specification, bills of materials, equipment deliveries and client approvals, while coordinating with M&E and construction contractors where required. His understanding of broadcast projects helps keep the technical, commercial and construction elements working together from start to finish.

Fibre and Network Solutions

Many of our projects include 10Gb fibre and copper networks, providing the high-speed connectivity required by modern broadcast and post-production facilities. We design, install and test each network, with copper and fibre connections fully tested to ensure they meet the required specification.

10Gb Ethernet Networks

Many of our projects include Ethernet cabling, from CAT6 through to 10Gb CAT6A for high-demand post-production facilities. Every cable is tested after installation to verify that it meets the required standard and performance specification.

Fibre Networks

Fibre is increasingly being used to connect rooms and technical areas within modern broadcast facilities, particularly where high bandwidth, distance or signal isolation are important. Fibre can also be used to transport video signals, including 12G-SDI, using suitable fibre converters.

Our engineers can design, install and test the fibre infrastructure required for your workflow, from patching and equipment connections through to larger facility-wide networks.
